1. Scope and local processing
Tonue is designed for local PDF compression. In the current version, the core compression flow is intended to run on your device rather than in a cloud account, and the app does not require you to create a user account to use the main features.
This policy covers information that enters the app through import, preview, save, share, support, and purchase flows. It does not change the privacy rules of Apple or other platform services you choose to use.
2. Information you choose to provide
Depending on how you use the app, information may include:
- PDF files you import, including the file contents needed to render pages and create a compressed copy.
- Compression settings you select, such as the level or mode used for the current job.
- Local history data created by the app, such as file name, job status, sizes, page count, and timestamps.
- Files you choose to save or export, including a compressed PDF copy created on your device.
- Messages or attachments you send if you contact support.
- Purchase-related information from Apple that is needed to record Coins balances or restore entitlement state.
3. How we use that information
We use the information above only to operate the app and its related features. Typical uses include:
- Importing a PDF, rendering pages, and showing previews.
- Comparing file sizes before and after compression.
- Creating, storing, and presenting a compressed local copy when you save one.
- Applying Coins rules for large-file, batch, or higher-quality compression modes.
- Responding to your support request or troubleshooting a specific issue you report.
- Maintaining app integrity, preventing obvious abuse, and honoring Apple platform requirements.
We do not intentionally use your imported PDFs to build a public profile about you, and we do not use them for unrelated advertising purposes in this version of the app.
4. Local storage and retention
Most working data stays on your device. The app may keep local records for imported files, compression history, and output files until you delete them, remove the app, or clear local storage. If you export a file through the system share sheet, the file leaves the app because you chose to send it to another location or service.
If a compressed file is no longer needed, you can delete it from the app or from the destination where you saved it. If you want to remove local history, you may need to delete the app or use the app's own clear controls if they are available in your version.
5. Coins and purchases
Coins are optional in-app credits used for certain paid compression modes, including large-file compression, batch compression, and higher-quality compression. Purchases are processed through Apple and are subject to Apple's billing, receipt, and refund rules.
We may receive transaction status or receipt-related information from Apple that is necessary to record your Coins balance, confirm a purchase, or restore access on the same device or another eligible device. We do not receive your full payment card details.
6. Third-party services and platform features
The app relies on standard platform services such as the document picker, the share sheet, and Apple's in-app purchase system. These services are operated by Apple or by the service you choose at the moment you export a file. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply to those interactions.
We do not replace those services with custom uploads, cloud sync, or hidden background transfers in the current version of the app.
7. Security and limits
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for the scope of this app, but no device, local file, or electronic transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for choosing which PDFs to import, review, save, and share.
If a file is sensitive, keep control of the original and check the compressed copy before sending it to anyone else.
8. Children's privacy
Tonue is intended for general users and is not directed to children who are too young to use the app under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us so we can help you address it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features, legal requirements, or platform rules change. When we do, the updated version will replace this one within the app or at the location where the policy is shown.
